July 8, 2011

“Say goodbye to Alexandra leaving then say goodbye to Alexandra lost.” I’ve probably listened to this song 500 times. – Mikel

How is it possible that words are so powerful in Leonard Cohen’s hands? This is a song that will grow richer with each listen…gorgeously melancholy–suits my mood and where my head and heart are at exactly tonight. There’s some leaving going on and it’s all too sad to ponder any longer…

Heard you all play an XRT show tonight–first I’d heard of you all! Love your sound and hope to see you in Chgo some time! Best to you all!

    mikel, mikel, mikel,

If only i would have shut up a bit more perhaps you would have sung the whole song for me!?

i really do think you would do much justice to this song as a cover, and the strings would bring your voice to these brilliant, haunting lyrics home!

thanks again for the short serenade and q&a session with the few of us last night after the show in vermont.

    and oh my, the hugs…

    😉

    “you are a gentleman!”

    always,
cassandra (the 44yr old married cassandra that is- not the redhead 20 yr old cassandra from boston if you recall)

oh, the range of hearts you break! hehe
