Good morning,
Our debut record is now out.
It’s a heady moment in time for a band: giddy, sort of nervewracking, breathtaking and celebratory. You feel like you’re living in a kind of dream-life. You feel like you are being strapped into a rocket. You think, momentarily, this isn’t happening. But it is. It took two years of work and we are so happy to have it done.
You can buy it in any record store in the U.S. Also at Best Buy. Totally weird, right?
If you’d like to order a copy via mail please follow this Amazon link.
It’s also available on iTunes. It is, in fact, the #9 rock record on iTunes after one day. Unbelievable.
If for some reason you go to a record store and they don’t have our record, will you do us a favor and let us know? We don’t want you to have to go twice.
Thank you all for tuning in to the Conan O’Brien performance. That was great fun. He was very tall.
You can watch it again by going here :
and clicking on the 35 minute mark (the last dot on the time sequence line).
Also, thank you Sylvia and Dia for having that Spaceland viewing party. That was super cool of you.

We’ve posted the 10th and final edition of our weekly acoustic video series on our MySpace page. We perform Innocence on the main stage at the Colburn School of Music with our friends the Calder Quartet.
If you’d like to listen to our performance on Morning Becomes Eclectic with Nic Harcourt that we did yesterday, simply follow this link :

The Calder Quartet also joined us there.
They will also be joining us tomorrow night for the show at the El Rey Theatre.
Tickets for that show are sold out, but we will be back through town to play the Wiltern in September. We can’t wait for tomorrow.
What a week.
We miss you, we love you, we dare these melancholy dreams to hold sway

Hi Mikel,
I am a law student friend of Arturo’s at Lewis and Clark Law School. I’m writing a paper on the music industry and their insane contracts they make new musicians sign. I know you signed with an “indie” and I’m wondering about your contract and how it is structured. Could I ask you a few questions about it re: email or phone? Not sure if it’s cool to put my email on here, so you could reach me through Arturo….
Thanks a lot if you have time!
