Minneapolis, Seattle, Denver, Anaheim…and vinyl!
good morning–
Wisconsin probably has more to offer than trees and flatlands, dreary mornings of rain slapping against the windshield while we drive these moribund highways — but we wouldn’t know it.
We played Chicago last night (for the first time) and the experience was nothing short of religious. Replete with wailing and stomping, speaking in tongues and false idols. ahem.
Tonight it’s Minneapolis.
Then Seattle on Saturday, then we’re playing the Monolith festival in beautiful Denver, Colorado — Red Rocks, no less. Then Anaheim and the Wiltern. We used to talk about such things in hushed tones. As of Tuesday, our record is available in selected stores on vinyl. We are simply tickled (that’s right, tickled) over it.
We will think of you as we drive these lonely highways.
Tonight, for instance, we are playing the same club where Prince got his start. Ever seen Purple Rain? Yep. Totally.More soon.
We were on Zane Lowe on BBC1 the other day and we continue to threaten you with big UK news.we miss you and love you and would show up on your doorstep with our lives in a box, if only we could–

Saw you at First Ave last night- what a fantastic surprise to hear a band new to me, and to be instantly in love with your music!! Am loving the CD- thanks for taking the time to sign it- can;t wait to have my 13 year old son listen to it- he is learning guitar, and I love to introduce him to amazing guitar playing whenever I can.
Hate to say that listening to The Fratellis was a tiny bit of a letdown after hearing you- you all have such fantastic stage presence, it is hard to follow an act like that! Speaking of which, I was telling your lead singer that your next trip here needs to be headlining at The Varsity Theatre- coolest place in town,(I guess next to First Ave), but personally,I like it better, it is a way more retro, hip, beautiful place to play.
SO jealous of all those lucky people who get to see you at Red Rocks- flew out there earlier this year for a show, then they posted the Monolith lineup- wish I would have waited. Absolutely amazing venue.
Thanks again for sharing your talents.

Already looking forward to seeing what you will come up with next!
Hey guys-
(Mikel– I know Tim who knows Cindy.. blah blah blah.. remember?)
Anyway, I flipped when I heard the local station cities 97 play sometime around midnight during the indie rock hour on sunday night a few months ago… so i looked you guys up to see if you (finally) got a website up or some other means of communication to the outside world of LA 🙂 and much to my delight there you were totally lighting up the scene! what the hell happened?? and hell yeah that it did!! so glad the stars aligned and you guys are out there doin what you’re doin
and you finally made it to first ave. and didn’t disappoint. loved it. the things you guys are doing with the music is, and i say this sincerely, beautiful. i love the emotion in it– i love the drama of the violin and the way you play off each other. keep it up guys.
best,
Anne Knapke
I am at a really crazy point in my life. I just moved to Colorado by myself to start my life over and the other day I turned the radio on (i never listen to the radio) and your song “sometime around midnight” came on. I love it, I have seriously been playing it on repeat since I heard it yesterday. I looked up that you’re playing on Sunday at the monolith festival, and I would love to go but I can’t afford it. I love the lyrics and the violin, they are poetry set to music… It’s solace to hear the passion and raw emotion in the words and it makes me feel not so alone right now.
thank you so much for sharing your words <3
good luck
Gypsy.
I moved here from Portland.. I was hoping you were planning a show there because I want another reason to go back!
Great show at Monolith. Come back to Denver soon
Hi guys,
We would like you to know your video “Sometime Around Midnight” has been the highlight of our (very) early morning routine here in dark and quiet NYC. VH1 has had it in rotation for about a month and since the very first viewing, we’ve all learned the words, identified with the torture, lost our inhibitions when we sing and play along, and of course, we’ve all bought the album.
Thanks and keep up the good work,
Ryan, Vito, Per and Kim
Love, love, love “sometime around midnight”. A friend sent a youtube version to me yesterday and I’ve been playing it over and over ever since. What a fantastic song! You can completely put yourself in the situation…
I know you had a long and boring drive through WI from Chicago to Minneapolis, but stop by Madison next time! Awesome town. Think of a smaller version of Austin…
Thanks for the great work!
ATE, recent fan…and becoming addicted…but come on, being a Wisconsinite by birth, I happen to know that we have much going for us. Cheese for instance. And beer, lots of that. Along with cows and fine sausages. When, if you add in long and crappy winters, lead to a lot of sedentary people drinking beer, and eating cheese and sausage. Which, therefore, results in a lot of ummmm…”huskiness”…along with the occasional exploding heart. Fun times I think you’d have to agree!!
You’re missing Oktoberfest in La Crosse right now…yes, even ANOTHER reason to drink copious amounts of malted beverages. They have tons of acts there too. Get this, they had Molly Hatchet play a couple years ago.
Yes, I am in dire need of entertainment.
Going to pick up the album ASAP…many thanks! And swing through the dairy state someday…when its not raining :).
Hey ATE-
This is oldpost, I know, but. I was at your Chicago show! Came back to the merch table afterward and gushed at you, bought your CD, joined the mailing list. Just wanted to stop by to say how much your performance moved me, and that the music continues to do so (“Wishing Well” is a great song to listen to on the train in the morning ~_^). Can’t wait to see how far you guys go!
All the best,
Emily “Em&M”
Heard your song on the radio…bought your CD and have been listening to it ever since. I haven’t enjoyed a entire CD like this in a long time…can’t get enough. Saw you in Anaheim…only stayed to see you and you guys were awesome! Thank you…I can’t wait to hear what comes next and if you come around Orange County or LA again I am there.
Keep it up…you rock.
Stephanie :o)
