Excellent, it was the Letterman performance of Sometime Around Midnight that made me an instant fan. Please perform All I Ever Wanted similar to the Disney performance, to me simply one of the best songs and performances ever recorded. The non-TATE world would be amazed
My wife and I also became instant fans of TATE from watching the January 2009 Letterman show. We’ve seen them live 7 times since including an amazing show in London at the Koko. Met them after that show and several times since. Great people, great band. I love the new record and we’re flying down to see them in Ft. Lauderdale next week. Letterman tapes the Friday show on Monday which means the band has already performed the show we’re going to see this Friday. I wouldn’t be surprised if Paul Schafer performs with the band – dueling pianos I predict. You could tell how much he liked them last time they were on the show – Letterman loved them too. I’m hoping they play something other than Changing since they’ve done it on Kimmel and Leno already. How about It Doesn’t Mean a Thing or Welcome to Your Wedding? Really any of their new songs would be great to hear. We can’t wait for May 26th.
Awesome!!! I missed you on Gossip Girls this is a must!!! See you June 16 at Sacremento!!!
This week I had great news and horrible news. Horrible news: My grandmother passed and her services were Thursday and Friday. Great news: I won WXRT tickets to see The Airborne Toxic Event (my absolute favorite band) the very same Thursday in Chicago. Ah, the sucky irony of life.
So, I return home from funeral services and turn on the DVR to watch the The Airborne Toxic Event on Letterman. A balm to the soul tonight.
Letterman introduced me to the band years back, and I still tell everyone I know about them. Keep up the great work, TATE! Hope to catch you at Summerfest in Milwaukee.
Sounded great, love Dave comment
David Letterman loves TATE – no doubt about it. I’ve been watching his show regularly for 25 years and seldom has he seemed so genuinely fond of a band. The announcement by Dave that the band was going to entertain him and the studio audience – but not the TV audience – was funny but more importantly as far as his love of this band – unprecedented in my memory. I thought they played Changing, with Schafer and his band – wonderfully, don’t you all? Does anyone know what other song(s) they played off air for Dave and the studio audience?
Hello,
Be really great if you could all read this.
I would really appreciate if you do a bombastic video with all of the songs that are not avaiilable for TATE fans to listen to. It would just be amazing.
Songs like: ‘The girls in their summer dresses’, ‘Letter to Georgia’, ‘Book of Love’
Thanks a bunch,
Sandro Moreira.
