El Rey & Bowery Ballroom Residencies Cancelled
Good afternoon,
We are saddened to announce that we will be canceling our upcoming series of shows at the El Rey in Los Angeles (3/31-4/4) and the Bowery Ballroom (4/7-4/10). All tickets can be refunded at the point of purchase.
*We will be playing the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles on October 9th and the Beacon Theatre in New York City on October 22nd.
The simple fact is that mass gatherings during this crisis are extremely efficient ways to spread disease which may not endanger us personally (or you) but may endanger those most vulnerable to the coronavirus.
So with heavy hearts we are canceling these shows because it is a necessary step to prevent more people from getting sick and dying. We encourage you to wash your hands, get tested if you have symptoms, practice social isolation (no mass gatherings) and encourage the most vulnerable in your life (people over 60, anyone with immune system deficiencies) to have a nice, long stay at home.
Music is a celebration of life and an affirmation of all that connects us. Right now what connects us most is concern as a society for the most vulnerable among us. Let’s keep them in mind in all of our practices.
We love playing shows and we were so excited to play these homecoming shows after such a long hiatus but now is the time to take the threat of coronavirus seriously.
We absolutely can’t wait to get through this and celebrate life through music with you again soon.
