I wasn’t really crazy about this one, but you guys are so great, I cannot help but listen. I live in Las Vegas,NV and would love to see you guys come here and play. I am a singer/songwriter, and I love your style. When I was a child, my uncles always had jam sessions/PARTY….in the garage of my grandfathers house, they always played “Get Back” by the Beatles, I think you could put a cool twist on that song. Love you guys….Lia J Dean

    Hey Guys!

First and foremost, thanks so much for adding a second show at the Metro in Chicago— Now we get to see you guys two nights in a row and we really really cannot wait!

Great job on covering “I am on fire”. If I am not mistaken, I think you guys played “I am on Fire” last time I saw you at the Metro… Anyhow, Sounded great! It’s a tricky song and there’s a lot going on in a relatively short period of time. You guys really elevated the song! Well done.

Now for my suggestion… And I ask that you please really consider it because I think you will agree it’s a great fit: “BAD” by U2. Think about it…. it’s an amazing song with a slow haunting intro and then it builds into a vocal volcano! It’s P E R F E C T for you guys and plays to your collective talents as a band. I really hope you consider it. However, whatever you choose, I am certain it’s going to be amazing.

You Guys are the best and, as thanks for the G I F T of your wonderful music!!!

Just watched the DirectTV @ Disney Concert Hall. I have been deeply entranced by your sound since i first heard it and to see a band enjoy putting on a show like that – AWESOME! To see that much effort go into a show after touring for 2 years and doing 354 shows is, well…refreshing. My admoration for your sound has grown 10 fold, I love listening/watching bands who just want to play and do it for the enjoyment! Keep up the great work! See you in SLC on June 1st.

Also, I’m going to go a little old school on you… Roy Orbison would be cool. Not sure about “Pretty Woman” just because it’s a little over-covered. He used a lot of strings in his rock-n-roll music, too. You guys could do a much edgier version of any of his songs… might want to try:

There’s been lots of suggestions for The Cure.
I’d like to suggest “Inbetween Days”

I’d really like to hear you guys tackle ‘Maybe’ by The Wonderstuff, or ‘Out to Get You’ by James. I’d love t hear an American take on these quintessentialy English tracks.

Whilst I’m here I’d just like to say a real big thanks for the gig at KCLSU. I couldn’t make any of the others due to work but had a ball at Kings. My house burnt down 3 weeks ago and I’ve been having a pretty rough time of late. The gig made me happy for the first time in a while. Thank you x

    Hi Airborne
Can’t wait to see you in Boston next week. Hope you have a great Origins tour in NY this week.

I suggested the Cure’s 10:15 Saturday Night to Mikel during the Meet & Greet in Somerville last fall. I can almost hear Anna and Noah playing the “drip drip drip” line.

I’d also love Bowie/Queen’s Under Pressure; Please, Please, Please Let Me Get What I Want by the Smiths; Don McLean’s American Pie or Joni Mitchell’s River with the Calders. And for fun, anything by the Violent Femmes which reminds me of Daren’s acoustic snare drumming!

Thanks and take care – Elizabeth

You’ll end up crying by A-Ha…with the Calders would be completely awesome but Anna can handle the strings alone, too. Noah on the bass, Steven and Mikel on Guitar…that would be amazing. Or Amanda, by Boston. I don’t think you guys have ever done a bad song so whatever you chose will be great!!

Would be brilliant if you could do:

The Ghost in You (Psychedelic Furs)

    Guns of Brixton

Okay, so there’s already a ridiculous amount of suggestions, but I hope you consider this…

“The Indie Queens Are Waiting” by Dan Mangan

I think you guys could do a great job with it, and there’s great opportunity for Anna to create a violin part. Plus, it uses fermatas, and that’s always fun in music 🙂

    Thanks!

fellow appreciator of “white noise” here (for whatever that’s worth).

you should cover “take it easy (love nothing)” by bright eyes.

this song would be right up your alley (yes, i know, every other song on here was guaranteed to be right up your alley, but this time it’s for real), with the added benefit of being something that is neither a hundred years old nor something that the average appreciator of rock music in any of its various sub-genres has not been forced to listen to umpteen zillion times.
