I grew up in the Detroit area, so this book made me feel a bit sentimental. Much of it was disturbing, though. My stepmom is Greek as well, so it just increased my discomfort. For a while I suspected she may have a penis.
This is one of my favorite books. I didn’t expect such an epic story…Calliope broke my heart. As a Greek (Canadian) I was loving every reference to the quirky Greeks! Good pick.
